An introduction to Brazil

Ronaldo

Hey guys!

My name is Ronaldo Lima Jr, and I’m an English teacher in Brazil. This semester (Feb – Jun), I’m having a blogging project with my advanced students. You can find all blogs at:

http://finally5b.21classes.com

We have just created a virtual tour around the five cities my students considered to be our five most important cities. We used voicethread to create this show and you can watch the show here or at our portal.

Feel free to leave text (by clicking “type”) and/or voice (by clicking “record”) comments to us. It doesn’t matter if you leave comments here or at our portal, they will be updated on both places.

Have fun!

    Hi Yulia,
The president of my Brazil is Lula.
I like him in some aspects, but he is not perfect, there are some things in his goverment that I really don`t like. Brazil needs a lot of improvements, for exemple in our education, and sometimes he doesn`t do the necessary to improve it.

    Hello dude!!
I simply LOVE to live in Brazil. I woudn’t change this country for any other one. Our people, culture, song, carnaval are the best, in my opinion. Even considering the bad things, the good ones are much stronger.

Hi Jongsika, thanks for posting your comment. Well, the most important state of Brazil is São Paulo because it’s a global metropolis with a big economic importance. And, actually, we don’t like soccer, but most of the people here do.

    Hope we helped! xoxo

Nowadays, there are about 186 million people living in Brazil. The word “Brazil” comes from a very common tree, that existed MANY years ago here, called “Pau-Brasil”. However, particularly, I don`t know the real meaning of that word. Good question! Thanks. Bye!

    Hi Ronaldo and Students!
What a fantastic presentation you have put together.
I love your country. I went to Florianópolis for a summer holiday and couldn’t believe how beautiful your beaches are, with their warm, clear water and the luxuriant vegetation covering the “morros”. I also visited a village called Mariscal, which seemed to be paradise on earth. No wonder so many Argentinians spend their holidays in your country.
Once again, congrats on a wonderful presentation and an incredible country.
